The Liber Abaci or Book of Calculation was written around the year 1202, by Leonardo Pisano Bigollo, who is better known as Fibonacci. In Liber Abaci, Fibonacci introduced a number sequence that solved a problem relating to the growth of a population of rabbits generation by generation assuming some idealized constraints. The sequence was named after an Italian mathematician known as Leonardo of Pisa (or Leonardo de Fibonacci). Fibonacci was taught mathematics in Bugia and travelled widely with his father and recognised the enormous advantages of the mathematical systems used in the countries they visited. The Fibonacci sequence is named after Leonardo of Pisa, who was known as Fibonacci. London: Liber Abaci's Geometry in Nature. The book advocated numeration with the digits 0–9 and place value. In it he outlines a puzzle regarding how fast rabbits could reproduce in ideal circumstances. Leonardo Fibonacci was a 13th century accountant who worked for the royal families of Italy. He published Liber Abaci or Book of Calculation in 1202. A piece of history worth noting: Leonardo of Pisa (Fibonacci), first wrote about this sequence in his 1202 book, Liber Abaci. Prior to Fibonacci, mathematicians didn't have numbers like we do. For many reasons, the book changed the face of mathematics forever. Liber Abaci introduced practical uses for the Arabic numerals 0 through 9 to Western Europe. In 1202, he wrote a book called Liber Abaci in which he gives name to the number sequence. In the Liber Abaci (1202), Fibonacci introduces the so-called modus Indorum (method of the Indians), today known as Arabic numerals. Abstract: Fibonacci is an Italian mathematician in the 13th century, whose famous Liber Abaci (1202 first edition, 1228 reprint) is the Encyclopedia of Mathematics in Europe in the late Middle Ages.
